This generous holiday house with an additional, independent studio and a garden is in Languedoc-Roussillon, Département Gard, Pays d’Uzès. It is in the little village of Garrigues in a quiet residential area. The house faces south and is sheltered from the cold mistral wind by hills in the north.
The house has a big, well-kept garden of 1200m². Its stone oak trees provide shade from the heat and you can relax on the sheltered terrace even on cooler days. The site is completely enclosed. The garden is divided by paths and natural stone walls. Fragrant southern herbs such as rosemary, thyme, oregano and mint, as well as lavender, waft into the interior. Figs, olives and apricots, as well as cacti complete the Mediterranean picture. There are two furnished terraces, a roofed terrace by the house and one by the grill area. The big driveway is pebbled and provides parking spaces on site.
When renting the main house for four people, the separate studio is not let out to a different party, so you will have the whole site to yourselves. The house and the studio can also be rented together. Use of the Internet connection (speed 19 MB/s) and the local tennis court are included in the rental price.
From here you can go on cultural visits to the Pont du Gard, Avignon, Nimes and Orange. Or if you prefer nature, you can explore the Camargue, maybe on horseback, or put your hiking shoes on and scale the Cévennes. You can also go canoeing on the Gardon. You do not have to drive more than 75 km to spend a beach day by the Mediterranean. It is about 8km to the nearest supermarkets (Lidl and Super U). 12km away in Uzes, a very vibrant place of tourist interest, you can find a wide range of shops. On Wednesday and Saturday a big market is held there. On Saturdays a free shuttle bus runs there from Garrigues, but quite early in the morning. It is definitely worth visiting the market.

It was built in 2002 and combines a traditional building style and typical local materials with modern living comfort and practical conveniences. The house is amply equipped with satellite TV, a flatscreen TV, a stereo system, a DVD player and a fireplace. The living room has an open kitchen with a dining space and a comfortable sitting area by the fireplace. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, oven, gas stove, fridge and freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, mixer and many other utensils, so you can self-cater conveniently. A washing machine, clothes horse, iron and ironing board, as well as storage shelves, are provides in the adjoining utility room. The spacious bathroom has a double washbasin, a bath, a WC and storage space for your personal items, as well as a hairdryer. There is a convenient additional WC. The two bedrooms each have a double bed, a wardrobe and bedside tables. The double bed in the bedroom on the south side measures 200 x 200cm. The bedroom on the north side has a French bed measuring 160 x 200cm. The house has gas central heating, but no air conditioning. All the rooms can be heated, except the separate toilet and the storage room.
