A large house with a private pool, a garden, a terrace and a garage, for your holiday on Crete
Your holiday accommodation is in the interesting south of Crete, in the beautiful locality of Kamilari. The house enjoys a central, but quiet location in Kamilari. It is just a few minutes’ walk to the Plateia (village square). The house is on a 700m² site. Towards the north you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Ida mountains. All around the house there are further villas, olive groves and orange tree plantations. The garden is mature, with delightfully varied and typical plants and fruit trees.
The house with a high-quality interior with modern amenities has a living and dining room on the ground floor with a large, open and fully-equipped built-in kitchen, including a stove, oven, freezer, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, coffee machine, toaster and kettle. On this floor there is also a bedroom with two single beds (90 x 200cm), which can be joined together as a double bed. The bathroom is fitted with a shower, washbasin, mirror, WC and a window. The upper floor comprises a bedroom with a double bed (180 x 200cm) and a cot (70 x 140cm) can also be set up there, a second bedroom with a bunk bed (2 x 180 x 200cm) and space to add an additional child’s travel bed. The bathroom on this floor has a shower, a bath, a washbasin, a mirror, a WC and a window. There is also a utility room with a washing machine, freezer and ironing equipment. The living room and bedrooms are all equipped with air conditioning units. The windows and doors are fitted with insect screens. During the winter months the house has modern central heating and in between seasons there is a fireplace stove in the living room for heating. The large bedroom on the upper floor or the stairwell hallway provide access to the large roof terrace. The smaller bedroom on the upper floor opens onto a further balcony. Every room on the ground floor opens onto the terrace. Plenty of cupboard space is available.
The whole site is surrounded by natural stone walls and there is plenty of space to relax and spend time outdoors, such as under grape vines or a pergola by the house entrance, as well as the circulating terrace, the roof terrace and the other balcony. The front part of the site has a paved courtyard, with a driveway to the garage (for vehicles with max. dimensions: width 210cm, length 470cm, height 200cm). Behind the house there is the pool area with a round swimming pool (20m², depth 1.4m). The pool can probably not be used for a few months in winter. There is an outdoor kitchen with a large fireplace grill, as well as a lawn.
A child’s bed, a highchair and Internet access can be used during your stay. Air conditioning can be used on request for a fee.
All restaurants, cafes and shops are within easy walking distance. Kamilari still offers traditional Cretan village life and is characterised by tolerant togetherness. You can enjoy great views of the Ida mountainswith Psiloritis, at 2456m the highest mountain in the north of the island, as well as the locality Timbaki and its surroundings in the west, the wide Messara plain in the east and the Libyan Sea in the south-west. Kamilari is very close to many beautiful beaches (e.g. the long Komos beach or the adjacent beach in Kalamaki). In the narrow streets and alleys of the village you can find an authentic face of Crete: two little market squares, three churches, colourful kafenions and very good tavernas that are also frequented by locals. Kamilari has a relaxed atmosphere and has not been overrun by mass tourism, so it is very popular among individual tourists. Kamilari is an ideal starting point for a range of activities and trips throughout the island. There is a local supermarket and there are two towns nearby with further shops, weekly markets, pharmacies, doctors, a hospital, post offices and banks.
