The distance to the mainland is about 11 km, of which about 6 km is the road through the Wadden Sea. Because of the tides, it is necessary to navigate during low and high tide. Bathing is possible at the storm tide column about 1 km away. Mandø is part of the Wadden Sea National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also visit the island's beautiful, historic mill.
